"My Quiet Place" (36x48)
Behind our homestead there are five miles of woods with many different types of trees and wildlife. There is one particular spot where I love to just go and sit . . sometimes to hunt, sometimes to pray, sometimes to just take in the beauty and creativity God has shown through what He has created. This is my painting of that special place . . . early in the morning with the sun just beginning to peek over the tops of the distant trees . . . the foggy lowland still misty . . . and all the wildlife just beginning to roam about.
Though I have actually seen all of the animals and bugs shown in the painting at one time or another, I have never seen them all at one time and in one place as presented here. However, here they all are now together . . . 14 different kinds! See if you can find them all. For me, each of these different little (and big) creatures has a symbolic meaning.
Why not try picturing yourself sitting behind the old, fallen cedar tree, enjoying the autumn sunrise (with your breath still visible in the morning coolness). Then, as you sit there and locate each of the 14 critters, you can begin to apply your own particular meaning or symbolism to each one, and, enjoy the beauty of God’s wonderful creation along with me!
